Our six specialties are neuropathy treatment, sports injury and orthopedic pain, chronic pain and arthritis, fertility and women's health, men's health and hormonal support, and stress, anxiety, and mental health. We also offer cupping, bodywork, herbal medicine, and other integrative services. Acupuncture is supportive care and is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Your first visit includes an intake where we listen to your health history, goals, and concerns. We then offer a personalized treatment that may combine acupuncture with other modalities, and talk through next steps and a plan for ongoing care.

How do I know which location to book?

We have two offices: Rockville (451 Hungerford Dr, Ste 310, Rockville, MD 20850) and Clarksburg (23244 Brewers Tavern Way, Clarksburg, MD 20871). Choose the one that is most convenient for you. Rockville hours are Mon, Wed, Fri: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM | Sun: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM (select Sundays, call or check Square to confirm). Clarksburg hours are Tue, Thu: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Do you take insurance?

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on you and your goals. Some people come for a short course and others for ongoing care, and response varies from person to person. We will talk through a realistic plan at your visit. Results are not guaranteed.

Is acupuncture painful?

Many people feel little discomfort. You may feel a slight pinch or a dull sensation when needles are placed, and the needles are very thin. Many people find the experience relaxing. Tell us if anything feels uncomfortable.

Does acupuncture replace seeing my doctor?

No. Acupuncture is offered as supportive care alongside your medical care. Please keep working with your doctor, and tell us about any diagnoses, medications, and supplements. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911.

Do you offer herbal medicine?

Yes. Dr. Yen offers Chinese herbal medicine as part of integrative care when appropriate. Herbs can interact with medications, so please share a full list of your medications and supplements.
